Current Work

I teach and build programs in moral and political economy, civic thought, and economics education. At Johns Hopkins I serve as director of undergraduate studies for the Moral and Political Economy major in the Center for Economy and Society.

My recent and current projects include work on fairness, observability, and discretionary effort; civic thought and economics education; interactive model visualization; and what machine learning can tell us about the knowledge embedded in economics research and textbooks.

Books and Projects

  • Microeconomics: Competition, Conflict, and Coordination with Samuel Bowles was published by Oxford University Press in 2022. We will rebuild the book as an open site and link it here as that work comes online.
  • I am lead author with the enCOREage team on Understanding the Economy, a CORE Econ project.
  • I am developing teaching and public-facing materials around progress, civic thought, and economics education.
